Ariadne Alexis Macquarie (she/they) is an MFA Candidate in Poetry and serves as a Graduate Teaching Assistant in the College of Arts and Sciences. She is originally from Western North Carolina but has spent time living in both Southwest Virginia and Northern Arizona. Her work focuses on queer and trans narratives within the broader context of life in Southern Appalachia. Her debut poetry collection, Flame Azaleas, is forthcoming. She is the editor-in-chief of both New Limestone Review and On Gaia Literary Magazine, and is a staff reader for both Sundress Publications and the Best of the Net Anthology. Formerly, she was a Poetry editor for Roanoke Review. Her work is featured in Red Branch Review, YNST Magazine, Women of Appalachia, Rednecks Rising, and elsewhere.
