Video/Game Camp

Video/Game Camp is a place for kids to learn about and explore video games as a way to tell stories and express ideas. During this camp kids will expand abilities and deepen their understanding about how video game technology functions in the world around them. Campers will play games, make videos about them, and create their own games.

They learn not only how to use the technology, but how to use rhetoric to communicate their ideas ineffective and substantive ways.

June 22 - 26, 2020
Drop off is 9:00 am
Pick up is 3:00 pm
Drop off/pick up location will be provided one week prior to the beginning of the camp.

Meals
Participants will need to provide their own lunch daily.  Snacks will be provided each day.  Please be sure to note any dietary restrictions or allergies on the registration form.

Daily Schedule 
Monday – Intro to Screen Play/Open Worlds vs. Closed Worlds
Tuesday – Building and Making Games Social
Wednesday – Making Games I
Thursday – Making Games II
Friday – Making Games III

Materials Needed
UK computer labs and equipment will be used.  Participants do not need to bring their computers or cameras.

Registration Fee
Registration for this one week camp is $200.

Checks or money orders should be made payable to “University of Kentucky.”
