Zamirah Hussain is a PhD candidate in the University of Kentucky's English department. She holds a BA in American Studies from Centre College, and an MA in Popular Culture Studies from Bowling Green State University. Zamirah's Master's thesis explored postmodern camp and expressions of queerness in country music. 

Her current research interests include the monstrous feminine in contemporary horror literature and film, especially the growing sub-genre of historical horror.
