Esther Mack

Esther Mack is a PhD candidate in English at the University of Kentucky. Her focus is in early nineteenth-century American literature and how ecological, affect, and aesthetic theory impacts the audience's perception of texts. She is looking to develop a dialogue that will generate agency toward the issue of eco-apocalypse and trace western thought to eastern philosophy. In addition to her English studies, she is also studying Chinese as a foreign language to augment her understanding and application of eastern thought in western contexts.
