Alexis Draut (she/her/hers) recently earned her MFA in Creative Writing at Chatham University (Pittsburgh, PA) and is currently working on her Ph.D. in English Literature at the University of Kentucky. Her writing, both scholarly and creative, revolves around environmental literature, spiritual curiosity, the earth, and sustainability. In her doctoral work, Alexis plans to look at the realms of creative writing and academic scholarship from an ecofeminist lens, studying the writing of Annie Dillard, Octavia Butler, Robin Wall Kimmerer and Mary Oliver, to name a few. She has published her poetry in journals such as The Social Justice Review, The Scrib Arts Journal, Internet Void, and The Perch Magazine. Alexis is a native Kentuckian, born and raised in Louisville.
