Jordan Rucci

Jordan Rucci is a PhD candidate in the department of English. She received her BA in English from Kenyon College, and an MA in English from George Washington University. Prior to teaching as a graduate instructor at UK, she spent four years teaching Introductory College Composition at Columbus State Community College in Columbus, Ohio. 

Jordan is interested in ideas of citizenship and national identity in American literature across the long 20th century and into the contemporary moment. She is currently at work on her dissertation, which explores the framework of what she is calling affective citizenship—the idea that citizenship is conferred horizontally across national subjects through displays of affect, emotion, and embodiment—across the 20th century in American literature and culture. She is also interested in Contemporary Pop Culture and Fiction. 

Jordan also currently serves as the President of the English Graduate Student Organization (EGSO).
